Virginia Giuffre had suffered a series of blows in the years before she died by suicide at her $1.3million farmhouse in Western Australia.

Her family confirmed the 41-year-old’s death in a statement on Friday night, saying the toll of abuse became ‘unbearable’ for her to carry.

‘She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking,’ the statement said.

‘Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure.

‘The light of her life were her children Christian, Noah, and Emily. It was when she held her newborn daughter in her arms that Virginia realized she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others.’

Giuffre became famous for being sex trafficked by highly-connected US paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In the years before her death, she suffered a ‘messy’ relationship breakdown with her estranged husband Robert and was in a car accident with a school bus.

Earlier this month, Giuffre posted a disturbing image of her heavily bruised face from a hospital bed and claimed she had ‘four days to live’.

Virgina Giuffre shared a selfie from her hospital bed showing her severely bruised face, but the bus driver, WA Police and multiple other witnesses said the collision was not nearly as serious as she made out.

She shared the selfie from her hospital bed showing her severely bruised face on Sunday night, claiming her injuries were the result of a collision with a bus.

However the bus driver, Western Australia Police and multiple witnesses said the collision was not nearly as serious as she made out in her haunting Instagram post.

But this is not the first time she has been hospitalised recently.

In August 2020 Giuffre posted a video from hospital in Queensland in which she appeared to have two black eyes and severe bruising around her neck.

While she did not go into detail about her injuries, or their cause, she said she was in ICU and thanked people ‘all around the world’ for their support.

‘I’m too tough for something like this to take me down and I got a bionic spine out of it,’ she said.

‘I just wanted to tell you all just how much I appreciate all your comments.’

In November 2023, Giuffre was in hospital again for ‘spinal surgery,’ and took to social media to thank her husband for spoiling her with pancakes.

Then in January 2024 she was in a quad bike accident.

‘Thanks for all the love, I was trying to clock out a T-Rex for my daughter on an ATV and lost control. Thank heavens that we are both on the road to recovery,’ she said.

A year later on January 9, 2025 Giuffre said she was once again in hospital.

She was allegedly involved in an incident near Dunsborough, Western Australia that reportedly left her with undisclosed injuries and needing medical treatment.

Her most recent hospital stint on March 24 came after the bus crash, which police later said was minor and caused just $2000 in damage.

While Giuffre initially went home, she later attended a hospital in rural Western Australia to seek treatment for a ‘pre-existing condition.’

She was then discharged, returned home again, before seeking medical attention at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital where she stayed for six days.

While Giuffre has not been sighted since her swift exit on Monday, her older brother is reportedly looking after her while offering support prior to her court appearance.

‘He is the best big brother anyone could ever dream of,’ Giuffre has previously boasted when speaking about Wilson.

Although Giuffre became a household name for her allegations against Prince Andrew, the mother-of-three has managed to live a relatively quiet life since moving to Australia with her martial arts instructor husband in 2002.

The pair had met in Thailand while Giuffre was on a massage training course, paid for by Epstein, and were married two weeks later.

The 22-year marriage is understood to have broken down in recent months, and caused a tug of love over access to the children.

On March 22 2025, Virginia took to social media to post pictures of her three children, adding the heartbreaking caption.

‘My beautiful babies have no clue how much I love them and they’re being poisoned with lies,’ she wrote.

‘I miss them so very much. I have been through hell and back in my 41 years but this is incredibly hurting me worse than anything else.

‘Hurt me, abuse me but don’t take my babies. My heart is shattered and every day that passes my sadness only deepens.’
