This is the moment a bull sent a Turkish farmer flying and trampled him after he used a broom to get it out of a truck.

Hasan Yidiz took the animal to be killed at a slaughterhouse in the district of Sancaktepe, Istanbul, on Friday, November 19.

But when he arrived, he found the bull calf had managed to break free from a rope tied round its neck.

Unable to safely lead the animal from the trailer, Hasan opted to wave a broom at it  instead but the huge animal charged and sent him flying onto the concrete ground.

Hasan suffered a fractured arm and the animal ran free for two hours before it was eventually caught.

Video recorded by a CCTV camera shows Hasan at the back of his trailer pulling at the door.

He eventually opens it and finds the bull calf standing inside. Without the rope he has no way of pulling the animal out.

Hasan looks to his left and spots a broom before returning to the trailer, jumping up the ramp and walking towards the animal.

The bull calf takes one look at the broom and sprints forwards smashing directly into Hasan.

The contact sends Hasan flying into the air and crashing down heavily onto his arm and into a heap on the concrete.

The powerful animal slams down out of the trailer, testing the vehicle’s suspension, and appears to trample on Hasan before it runs out of shot.

Hasan meanwhile remains on the ground clutching his left arm as several witnesses walk over to make sure he is not badly injured.

Hasan was taken to a local hospital by witnesses where he was diagnosed with a fractured arm, reports DHA, a Turkish news agency.

Hasan told DHA in an interview: ‘The people there took me to the hospital.

‘I also had a dislocation on my arm. They fixed it. But now I have a fracture in two parts of my arm.’

Speaking on Friday, Hasan said he would undergo an operation on his arm on Monday.

He added: ‘The calf was kept for sacrifice.

‘After it escaped, we chased it for two hours to catch it. We finally caught it.’

The bull calf was supposed to be slaughtered but it is not clear if the ritual was carried out or postponed after Hasan was taken to hospital.
