Thousands were evacuated as cars exploded in an underground car park following a massive fire at a construction market.

The inferno at Sindika market in Moscow caused structures to collapse as about 3,000 people fled the flames.

About 100 firefighters battled the blaze after it broke out on the ground floor of a warehouse before spreading to the car park, according to Russia Today.

One source told Russian news agency Tass that several vehicles had exploded.

‘Under the influence of high temperatures there was an explosion of several cars in an underground parking lot, it is all covered with fire.’
