A huge fire broke out near the athlete village at the South Korean Winter Olympics just a day before the start of the Games.
Thick black smoke could be seen rising from a fire at a construction site behind a cafe near Gangneung Olympic Park.
An emergency alert was sent to mobile phones in the region warning residents to steer clear.
Police are investigating the cause of the blaze which has now been put out.
Dozens of reporters in the city for the games shared images of the fire on Twitter.
Reporter Chris Kamrani wrote: ‘An emergency alert just blasted phones here in South Korea.
‘Looks like it’s due to the massive fire we have a front-row seat for in our 16th-floor apartment.’
NBC journalist Bruce Harrison added: ‘Fire in Hwaeseondong, a district in Gangneung.’
