Huge TV newsreader looks unrecognisable during rare interview nine years after quitting Channel Seven and moving to a farm

A major TV newsreader looked unrecognisable as she resurfaced for a rare interview this week.

The famous Australian journalist appeared on the Three Food Memories Podcast to discuss her career after quitting Channel Seven in 2015 and moving to a farm.

Speaking to host Savva Savas, she looked strikingly different from her heyday as she reflected on the viral moment she was recorded swearing in Greek on-air.

The 57-year-old’s voice was well-recognised but she rocked a different look for her interview.

She showed off her new fringed locks and wore a red flannel shirt as she opened up about her career.

The newsreader also revealed what it was like after landing her first journalism job on radio in 1988.

But can you guess who it is?

That’s right, it’s Chris Bath!

During the interview Chris opened up about the moment she was recorded swearing in Greek on-air and her boss’ reaction when the footage leaked.

‘I was on the set for Sunday night, which was a very serious news and current affairs show. And the floor manager and audio director had taught me some Greek words,’ she began.

‘Because we weren’t on air and it was in the studio, I didn’t know it was being recorded.’

‘So weeks and weeks later I get called into the news director’s office and he showed me the video and asked me what I was saying.’

Chris quit Channel Seven in 2015 after 20 years with the network.

She then joined ABC Radio in November 2016 and hosted the evening show until the end of 2019.

After resigning, Chris moved to a farm with her husband Jim Wilson, who is also an Australian sports journalist.

The couple got married in January 2012 after three years of dating.

Chris shares a son with her ex-husband Denis Carnahan who she split with in 2008 after 10 years of marriage.

Meanwhile, Jim had two sons with his ex-wife Jackie but he tragically lost his younger son to brain cancer when he was just five.
