Hugh Jackman celebrates Pride Month by baking a LGBT+ themed cake covered in rainbows

Hugh Jackman celebrated Pride Month on Thursday with a cake smothered in yellow icing and rainbow decorations.

The Wolverine star, 55, took to Instagram with a snap of the delicious treat which he appeared to have baked himself.

‘Happy Pride!’ he captioned the image with bold rainbow font as the flour confection sat on a chopping board waiting to be sliced.

The celebration may be one of many playful nods the Hollywood hunk has given to persistent rumours he himself is ‘gay’.

Hugh’s ex-wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee Furness addressed the ‘silly’ rumours with a light-hearted response during a podcast interview in 2022.

The producer, 68, who divorced from the actor last year, said the baseless rumour is just one of many that has circulated about the A-lister over the years.

Speaking on the Not an Overnight Success podcast, Deborra-Lee said: ‘I mean, hello guys – if he was gay, he could be gay!

‘He didn’t have to hide in the closet anymore, and he’d be dating Brad Pitt, or whatever. Not that Brad’s gay, but you know what I’m saying!’

She continued: ‘It’s so silly, and then people perpetuate silly things and it’s boring.’

Hugh also gave a cheeky nod to the rumours in 2019 when he was starring in Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show at London’s O2 arena.

The Greatest Showman himself gave a very honest insight into his life as he spoke to the audience between songs at the time.

He poked fun at those persistent gay rumours, as he winked and said: ‘I know what you’re all thinking… is he? Isn’t he… [pauses for effect]… Australian?’

Hugh slipped into a sequin shirt and silver trousers for the occasion as he paid tribute to the late Peter Allen, who he famously played in The Boy from Oz in 2003.

The singer announced his shock split from Deborra-Lee in September after 27 years of marriage, telling fans they separated ‘to pursue our individual growth’.

He shares two adopted children – son Oscar, 24, and daughter Ava, 18, – with his former wife.
