Hugh Jackman shares throwback pic with mum

He is known for playing some of the most fierce roles in Hollywood.

But on Thursday, Hugh Jackman revealed his softer side, posting a throwback photo of his mother, Grace Watson from 2007.

The X-Men star shared a photo of himself embracing his mum whilst flashing his winning-smile to his 16 million Instagram followers.

‘The year was 2007. #Mum #throwbackthursday,’ he captioned the photo to his Instagram followers. 

Fans were quick to compliment Hugh on the photo, remarking he had inherited his good looks from his mother.    

‘TWINS. I always thought sons take more after their dads, and daughters their mums. This proves that totally wrong,’ another user wrote.

Another wrote: ‘Both are like a fine wine.’

Despite now boasting a close bond, Hugh has had a troubled relationship with his mother in the past. 

In 2012, Hugh revealed his mother abandoned his family when he was just eight years old.

He broke down in an emotional interview on 60 Minutes, recalling the moment his mother walked out on his family.

Hugh said: 'I remember her being in a towel around her head and saying goodbye, must have been the way she said goodbye. As I went off to school, when I came back, there was no one there in the house.'

The  actor later discovered Grace had suffered from depression and was ‘struggling’ as a parent.

Hugh, forgave his mother and in recent times they have mended their relationship.
