Hugh Jackman’s rumoured new girlfriend Sutton Foster said working alongside the Broadway star was ‘a dream come true’ in a resurfaced interview from 2022.

Two years before sparking romance rumours with the 56-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star, the 49-year-old actress raved about having the opportunity to work with Hugh on the Broadway revival of The Music Man.

‘The show is so joyful, and I’m having the time of my life playing opposite this guy,’ Sutton said during a joint appearance with her co-star on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

‘You had to say that, but thank you,’ Hugh teased.

‘I did!’ Sutton then exclaimed, smiling at her co-star.

‘But it’s like — it’s a dream come true. Truly.’

Meanwhile, Hugh called Sutton a ‘dream’ in another resurfaced interview from 2022.

‘It’s been a long time since I’ve done a book musical — actually, 18 years, since The Boy From Oz,’ he told New York Theatre Guide.

He went on to specifically applaud ‘this cast in particular’ for their hard work, before sweetly gushing that ‘Sutton Foster is just a dream.’

That same year, Sutton spoke highly of Hugh to Vogue when asked about their professional relationship.

‘He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest working man, incredibly kind, and generous—and all of that is true,’ she told the magazine.

‘He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him.

‘And he’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise, because you usually go into these things thinking, “Well, I hope we get along.” But we just spent Memorial Day with our families. It’s really fun to meet new friends after 40.’

‘They are 100 per cent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together,’ an insider previously told the publication.

The pair are reportedly going strong, but have been keeping the relationship out of the public eye, according to sources.

‘They are still together. They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge.

‘I was always very career-driven, and I had such a tricky relationship growing up with my own mom… It was never clear cut for me. I married in my 30s; it didn’t last, but one thing it did give me was this little inkling that I wanted to maybe have a family,’ she added.

However, when she met Griffin, her view on family changed.

‘When I met my husband, it was the first time that I finally went, “Oh, I get it. I understand why people have families”,’ she wrote.

In 2020 she spoke about spending time with her husband and daughter amid the COVID-19 pandemic in an interview with People.
