A joking diet post Hugh Jackman shared almost 10 years ago has resurfaced after he went public with his new romance with Sutton Foster.
The Australian actor took to X in 2015 to share an image of himself sitting on a table while staring at a plate of cookies.
The buff star riffed off Shakespeare to muse ‘to cheat or not to cheat – that is the question?!’ – referring a person having a ‘cheat’ meal when they are on a diet.
But some social media users have seized on the entirely innocent post to jokingly take it out of context.
They instead likened the post to widespread ‘affair’ rumours surrounding the end of his long-term marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness – joking the post ‘aged poorly’.
Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting the affair rumours are true, simply that internet users are having a light-hearted joke at reports about Hugh’s love life.

Hugh went official with Sutton Foster on Wednesday, more than one year after his shock split from his wife Deborra-Lee.
Going public after months of speculation, Hugh and Sutton were seen looking happier than ever during a date night as they held hands and laughed together.
Hugh and Sutton previously shared the stage on Broadway when the played the leads in an acclaimed production of the classic musical The Music Man back in 2022.
According to reports, their relationship during the show was ‘Broadway’s worst-kept secret’.
‘Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb [separated],’ a source close to Foster told Us Weekly.
Sources revealed to DailyMail.com that Furness had concerns about the pair teaming up for the Broadway production in 2022 – a year before Hugh announced the end of their 27-year marriage.
Hugh and Sutton finally decided to go public with their romance this week as they are no longer ‘interested in hiding their love’.

‘Enough time has passed for Hugh to stop playing games and hide his feelings and his relationship,’ an insider said.
‘They both wanted to be considerate of their exes and anyone else that might be upset, but they aren’t interested in hiding.
‘Hugh’s close friends have seen a rejuvenated glow to him and that is all thanks to Sutton.’
Representatives for Hugh and Sutton have not commented on their evening out together.
However, Hugh’s ex-wife Deb, 69, was said to be ‘relieved’ when she saw the photographs of the pair, with insiders saying she can now finally move on.
‘Deborra-Lee feels a sense of relief to be honest with you,’ a source told DailyMail.com exclusively.
‘She can now fully close this chapter and move on.’
Deb was married to the Wolverine star for 27 years before they announced their shock split in September 2023. They adopted children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
