Hughenden, Queensland: Thieves steal a caravan with a family-of-five still inside

A caravan with a young family of five inside has been stolen from a holiday park, along with the car that was towing it.

A man and woman, along with their three children aged between six and 12, were inside their caravan in Hughenden, in central Queensland, at about 9pm on Monday night when they heard the car start.

As the caravan began to move, the family was able to get out before the offender drove it off.

The family were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The car keys were reportedly stolen from the caravan earlier that day.

Police have since found the car and caravan, and investigations continue.
