Hugh’s that? Labourer Nigel, 50, gets stopped for selfies every day by fans who can’t believe he’s not movie smoothie Grant

A builder who looks just like Hugh Grant has said that he gets stopped for selfies every day by fans who can’t believe he’s not movie star Grant.

Nigel Lambert, 50, said the likeness causes strangers to stop him in the street and ask for photos, only for him to turn red and reveal that he is just a lookalike.

The father-of-four only noticed similarities to Grant when he got into his forties.

‘I do get mistaken for him. It’s constant. It’s everywhere I go,’ Nigel, from Port Talbot, south Wales said.

‘Almost every day someone will stop me and ask for a photo. My face goes red and I tell them I’m not him.

‘When I’m working, customers will point it out. If I take my wife to a restaurant, people come over and say “you look just like Hugh Grant”.

‘One guy in a restaurant asked me for a photo to send to his wife. It happens in the supermarket, the street, restaurants. I can see people looking and thinking “is that him?”.’

Nigel says it isn’t just his looks that make him resemble the actor as he’s also a ‘gentleman’.

Nigel said: ‘I’m a gentleman. I hold doors open for people, women and men. I’m nice to everyone.

‘Once I was coming out of a shop and I helped a lady who was struggling with her trolley.
