Human skeleton of a ‘child or small adult’ is unearthed in sand dunes in South Australia

  • Human remains have been found at Nora Creina, in South Australia’s southeast 
  • A member of the public discovered the skeleton in sand dunes on Wednesday 
  • The bones of a ‘child or small adult’ were dug up by forensic teams on Thursday  


Human remains belonging to a ‘child or small adult’ have been found in sand dunes in South Australia’s south east. 

A member of the public was walking alone the beach at Nora Creina, near Robe, when they discovered the remains on Wednesday. 

They contacted police who sent forensic investigators to recover the bones from the site on Thursday.  

‘The bones were collected and conveyed to Adelaide for further forensic testing,’ South Australia Police said in a statement.

‘The origin of the deceased and circumstances of the death remain unexplained.’ 

Investigations into the matter continue.
