‘She got off the train at Flagstaff Station and he continued to follow her and engage in conversation,’ Victoria Police said in a statement.

The woman, who was on the train for about 30 minutes, took the escalators only for the man to follow her on May 16.

CCTV footage shows a man, believed to be about 20 to 25 years old, taking an escalator beside the 49-year-old woman before he hovered at the top and allegedly attempted to engage in conversation and follow her.

When the woman altered train station staff the man left.

The man was wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap and baseball style jacket at the time.
