Body of a ‘distressed man’ who was spotted on a mooring is pulled from the water in affluent Sydney harbourside suburb

  • The man’s body was tragically found in Sydney’s Parramatta River on Friday
  • Witnesses reported a man in distress on a mooring in Hunter’s Hill about 1pm
  • A desperate search of the river ended when police made the grim discovery
  • NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene 

A man’s body has been pulled from Sydney’s Parramatta River.

Witnesses reported a man in distress on a mooring in the North Shore suburb of Hunter’s Hill at about 1pm on Friday. 

A desperate search of the river ended a short time later when police made the grim discovery.

Officers from the Marine Area Command, with the assistance of Ryde Police Area Command, pulled the body from the water.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner. Initial inquiries suggest there are no suspicious circumstances.
