Jimmy Carr was surprised by the remark, and joked she should have impersonated Mel C’s Sporty Spice – despite others reckoning she would be Mel B’s Scary Spice.

The comedian said to her: ‘What [about] Mel C? You’re Sporty but you went for Baby?’

And Alison quipped back: ‘Well… I went for Baby Spice! I looked really good, I had the pigtails and everything.’

Amanda Holden also jokingly took the mick out of herself during the show by poorly singing her hit single Over The Rainbow.

She had originally shown off her lipsyncing skills by miming to her track, but Jimmy hit back that it was poor because the recording wasn’t her real voice.

He told her to ‘do it live’, and she accepted the challenge by promptly singing her hit but instead put on a funny voice.

Amanda also revealed she had lunch with US hitmaker Miley Cyrus ‘a couple of years ago’, and said they enjoyed an unusual discussion about human anatomy.

Coyly revealing her superstar encounter, Amanda said: ‘Me and Miley Cyrus had lunch a couple of years ago. Sorry to name-drop.’

She went on: ‘We talked about the importance of having a relaxed sternocleidomastoid muscle. Your sternocleido muscle is just here [gesturing to her right shoulder].

‘And if you’ve got a tense sternocleidomastoid, that is really going to affect your vocals.’

Amanda was discussing the fact that tense neck muscles can interfere with a singer’s vocals, suggesting that it proved one person would be a poor singer.

I Can See Your Voice follows two players going head to head to win a cash prize by guessing if the mystery singers standing before them can or can’t sing, without hearing them perform a single note.

I Can See Your Voice airs on Saturday at 7:45pm on BBC One.
