I found a hidden camera pointing at the shower of my Airbnb

A woman was left terrified after she and her friends discovered a hidden camera pointing towards the shower in the Airbnb they were staying at.

Kennedy Calwell, 26, from Canada, was staying at an Airbnb at the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia when she and her 14 friends found the small spying device.

The 26-year-old detailed the moment her pal ‘investigated’ the entire home before landing upon the camera.

Kennedy claimed the tiny recording device was pointed in the direction of the shower and toilet, spying on them during their intimate moments.

‘We just found out we were being watched in our Airbnb,’ she said at the beginning of the clip that amassed over 7.1 million views.

Kennedy explained that there were 15 people staying in an Airbnb for her friend’s 30th birthday.

She said that one of her pals had seen many videos on TikTok where people claimed to have found hidden cameras and was very ‘paranoid,’ so she decided to search the home.

Kennedy recalled the instant her friend began looking through the home.

‘She whipped out her flashlight and she went investigating. She looked in like every single shower head, all the picture frames, doorknobs, everywhere in the house for a camera, and she found one,’ Kennedy said.

The 26-year-old detailed the exact location of the camera.

She said: ‘In the bathroom one of the outlets directly faced the shower.’

Sharing footage of the outlet, she added: ‘Okay so first of all this outlet didn’t work, you couldn’t plug anything in to it. You can see in the top [of the outlet] there is nothing, looks totally normal, and then in the bottom one, look at that little camera.

‘Anyway, we freaked out and called the cops,’ she explained at the end of her clip.

She told the outlet: ‘The owners claim the cameras were not put there by them. I don’t know anything about them. It could have been a previous guest though.’

An Airbnb spokesperson told Yahoo: ‘We ban hidden cameras and we are investigating these allegations. The guest who booked this reservation has received a full refund.’

Viewers rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on the horrifying situation, with many of them claiming the paranoia of cameras causes them to opt for hotels over the vacation rentals.

‘I stopped using Airbnb,’ said one person.

Another person added: ‘Why are people still staying in Airbnbs?’

Someone else wrote: ‘The moral is stay at hotels, and trust your intuition! Safe travels.’

‘Omg my worst nightmare,’ commented another user.

‘Absolutely horrific. I’m so sorry!’ wrote someone else.
