I Kissed A Girl FIRST LOOK: Dannii Minogue hosts lesbian dating show coming soon to BBC Three

Reality TV fans have gone wild after the first teaser trailer for lesbian dating show I Kissed A Girl – hosted by Dannii Minogue – was released on Wednesday.

With a specific release date unconfirmed, the BBC Three series is officially ‘coming soon’ and will see ten women live together in a luxury Italian house in the hope of sparking a romance.

The 10-episode series, which follows on from the gay male version of the show I Kissed A Boy last May, was first announced eight months ago.

Announcing the update, Dannii posted: ‘Hi… my name is Cupid and this year I’m aiming more love arrows in Italy… this time for the girls. #IKissedAGirl, coming soon.’

One excited fan replied: ‘I can’t wait to watch this! So excited!’

Producers have promised the new series will ‘serve drama, smash stereotypes, and promise more twists and turns than ever.’

The unique spin on the I Kissed A… format sees the contestants share a kiss with their partner before ever saying a word to each other.

Couples are matched up based on what they’re looking for in a partner, with their chemistry tested straight away to see if that first kiss will lead to love.

I Kissed A Boy launched to rave reviews last year, but the host – again, Dannii – revealed in Stellar magazine that she lost followers over hosting the gay dating show.

The pop star, who has always been a vocal ally of the LGBTQ+ community, said: ‘It really did make me laugh when I read the comments from people saying, “I’m unfollowing you.”

‘I just thought, well, that’s bizarre. All the other things that I’ve done within the queer space have not been a problem for you?’

However, Danni and the show still have plenty of fans ahead of this year’s show.

Such was the success of the programme last year, that her single We Could Be The One, I Kissed A Boy’s theme tune, reached number two in the iTunes download chart.

Danni said last September: ‘After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy, I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid again for girls in this second series.

‘I’m so excited to see if we can find more connections, chemistry and hopefully love sealed with a kiss. Here come the girls!’
