A woman has shared the simple steps that she took to shed 100 pounds in just one year without ever going to the gym or counting any calories.
Liza Marie, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, said she spent years as ‘the biggest girl in any room she walked into.’
She recalled ‘hiding beneath baggy T-shirts’ and ‘hating herself’ while attempting ‘everything to lose weight’ with no avail.
But when the pandemic hit in 2020, she decided it was time to turn her life around – and by making a series of little ‘lifestyle adjustments,’ she was able to drop 130 pounds.

Liza said she would try things like dieting or working out but would ‘give up quickly’ because she felt so ‘defeated’ when she ‘didn’t see immediate results.’
The Pittsburgh-native has become a viral sensation for sharing her impressive weight loss journey online
But, according to the Pittsburgh-native, who has become a viral sensation for sharing her impressive weight loss journey online, she soon found that the key to her success was ‘starting small’ and taking things ‘one step at a time.’
She used a method called habit stacking, which involves ‘building and maintaining one healthy habit before trying a new one.’
First, she started by raising her daily step count to at least 8,000 before also improving her water intake to one gallon a day.
After that, she began doing two at-home work outs a week and making the majority of her meals herself, rather than eating out.
She also started cutting off her screen time at 9pm to ensure that she was getting enough sleep.
As time went on she increased her home work outs to three per week, and eventually moved to five.
‘I didn’t get to the gym until I lost 100 pounds at home following these habits,’ she explained on Instagram. ‘And I didn’t start tracking my food until around six months into my journey.

‘Weight loss is not an overnight transformation. It’s a series of small decisions, individual choices made over and over.’
She’s now passionate about helping others who are struggling to lose weight and has recently started her own business, called Liza Marie Fit, which offers online coaching.
The weight-loss advocate has also released a book, entitled All The Things, packed full of tips for shedding the pounds.
Liza admits that while it wasn’t easy to get where she is now, she truly believes others can achieve what she did if they put their minds to it.
‘It was hard. Some days were more difficult than others, but I stuck with it and progressed over time,’ she wrote on her website.
‘Here I am now – happier than ever and proud of my transformation. The results I achieved from consistent dedication and mindset shifts are crazy.

‘I never focused on setting a weight loss goal, I just wanted to be healthy and feel good in my body.’
In the end, she added that while her physical transformation has been very beneficial, it’s the mental changes that are the most ‘rewarding.’
‘My biggest reward by far is the person I became along the way,’ she gushed. ‘When I started my journey, I was on my own.
‘I had no guidance and no support. I share my journey and the knowledge I’ve gained to inspire others to start living happier, healthier lives.
‘Our goal at Liza Marie Fit is to help women build confidence and create healthy, sustainable habits that actually last.’
