He’s the fan-favourite hunk who clutched onto a $9,000 diamond sparkler during Thursday’s finale of The Bachelorette.
And on Friday, Todd King revealed that he would have popped the big question to Ali Oetjen, if only she felt the same way.
‘I suppose if Ali had turned around and said that she reciprocated my feelings… I think I would have taken the plunge,’ the 26-year-old told Yahoo Lifestyle.

But the sales representative admitted that Ali and Taite had a profound connection.
‘The spark, it was just stronger with them,’ he expressed.
Speaking about the emotional turmoil of the finale, Todd explained that the whole crew were left in tears when Ali decided to part from him.

‘She found it so tough to emotionally and physically let me go… I did try to leave and walk away before the moment that you guys saw but she just wasn’t ready to let me go,’ he said.
‘I didn’t really have a plan with what I was going to do [with the ring] but I wanted to have the option of proposing… that’s why I chose the engagement ring,’ he later told Mamamia.

In a devastating twist, the runner-up was seen holding a diamond ring before the final rose ceremony, hinting he was planning to propose.
A tearful Ali explained that while Todd was the ‘perfect’ boyfriend in many ways, ‘something was missing’.
She later confessed her love for winning suitor Taite, telling him: ‘I’m willing to sacrifice it all because I am so in love with you.’
At that moment, Taite finally said the words that Ali was so desperate to hear: ‘I’m falling in love with you. I love you, Ali.’

He then handed her a $2,500 ‘promise ring,’ explaining that it was a symbol of his commitment to their life together outside the show.
Despite the price difference, both rings were designed by renowned label Dracakis Jewellers.
‘We hand crafted all of the rings, especially for The Bachelorette. We are super excited for Ali and Taite!’ jeweller Theodore Dracakis told Daily Mail Australia on Friday.
