Manchester United should be knocking on Unai Emery’s door to replace Erik ten Hag after the club sacked the Dutchman on Monday morning.

Ten Hag packed his bags and walked out of the Old Trafford exit door in the wake of a condemning weekend defeat against West Ham that leaves the club 14th in the Premier League standings and now searching for a new manager.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS-backed sporting team have already been seeking out potential candidates to replace Ten Hag with former Barcelona boss Xavi and current Brentford head coach Thomas Frank amongst those.

Former celebrated England boss Gareth Southgate also possesses suitors at United with the search for a new manager now expected to accelerate.

But, It’s All Kicking Off! co-host Ian Ladyman believes United should be doing everything in their powers to lure Emery away from Villa Park with the club currently top of the Champions League standings and flying in the top-flight.

The appointment would likely sit well with United supporters as Emery continues to star at Villa and it would be a huge decision for the Spaniard to make if the 13-time Premier League champions did come calling.

Ladyman believes United need to ‘be a big club’ and use their iconic global status to attract Emery to the club in what would be a massive shakeup in the Premier League.
