Ilhan Omar’s brazen double life involving secret hookups, romantic vacations and talk of marriage to her DC strategist lover is today laid bare after an exclusive DailyMail.com investigation.
The leftist congresswoman, 37, spent months denying she had split from husband Ahmed Hirsi despite this website revealing she had left their marital home and was having an affair with a campaign aide.
She finally filed for divorce on October 7 – but still refuses to acknowledge her relationship with veteran Democratic schmoozer Tim Mynett, 38, whose wife also petitioned for divorce in August.
DailyMail.com can now disclose that Omar and Mynett are not only dating, but living together ‘on and off’ at a secret DC apartment, while plotting romantic vacations to Jamaica and making plans for a long-term future together.

Insiders have gone so far as to suggest the pair are considering marriage when their respective divorces are finalized.
At the same time, however, DailyMail.com can further reveal that Mynett’s spurned wife Beth, 55, is refusing to yield in divorce proceedings because she feels Omar is a risk to their 13-year-old son William’s safety.
She wants primary custody and has told friends there is ‘no way’ she will allow her child to be ‘put in the cross hairs’ should someone try to harm the firebrand lawmaker because of her political leanings.

The wholesome photo gave no hint of the intrigue engulfing the Somali-born politician’s tangled personal life – or that she was poised to divorce the man whom she wed in an Islamic ceremony in 2002.
Omar finally abandoned her big denial earlier this month when it emerged she had filed papers in Minnesota conceding the marriage was irretrievably broken.
DailyMail.com had revealed some three months earlier that Omar was effectively separated from her husband, having moved out of their Minneapolis home and into her own luxury penthouse.
Weeks later we published exclusive video captured by a bystander which showed Omar leaving a romantic Italian restaurant outside of Los Angeles with a mystery man where they were seen holding hands across the table back in March.
The mystery Romeo was none other than Mynett, whom we subsequently identified as her lover in a bombshell August 6 exclusive.
His company, E Street Group, has been paid more than $250,000 in consultancy fees since 2018 by Omar’s campaign.

Neither party would discuss the affair but when a reporter from Minneapolis-based WCCO-TV asked Omar whether she had split from Hirsi and started dating someone else she replied: ‘No, I am not’.
‘I have no interest in really allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue,’ she added, cutting off further questions.

Beth further accused Mynett of taking their young son to meet Omar and bringing the freshman congresswoman back to their marital home while she was out of town.
In doing so, she alleged that her estranged husband had put the boy ‘in harm’s way’ because of the media attention and death threats Omar was receiving at the time.
Mynett pushed back against his wife’s accusations, claiming in his own filing that Beth wanted to ‘ruin his career’ and that he left because their seven-year marriage was unhappy.
‘Mr. Mynett denies that he told Ms. Mynett he was leaving the marriage for Representative Ilhan Omar (‘Rep. Omar’) or that he was in love with her,’ his filing at Washington, D.C. Superior Court reads.
Mynett also ‘denies any allegation which characterizes his work-related travel as being related to the furtherance of a relationship with Rep. Omar,’ according to the papers.

That evening, on Thursday, September 19, Mynett is seen driving over to Omar’s home but covertly parks his car two blocks away and on a side street

Sources close to the estranged couple told DailyMail.com lastweek, however, they have trouble buying Tim’s denials.
‘Honestly, had that video not been taken of Tim and Omar together, I don’t know if he would have ever told Beth what was going on,’ said a friend.
‘He probably would have just kept up the pretense that everything was okay while running around with Omar behind her back.’
Beth, who is medical director for the DC Department of Corrections and has an older teenager daughter from a previous relationship, was said to be completely blindsided by the collapse of her marriage.
But the friend, a lawyer but not involved in the case, added: ‘Beth is very level headed, she’s an incredibly strong person. I know of very few people who would handle all this so gracefully.
‘Everyone who knows this couple knows that the idea that Beth is out to harm Tim’s career or is being unreasonable is 100 percent bulls**t.
‘Right now her focus is ensuring the well-being and safety of her kids, particularly her son who is at a really vulnerable age.
‘Like all moms in America right now she is concerned about safety around guns and the last thing any mother wants is for their son to be out with somebody who is receiving active death threats.
‘There were lots of things about Tim’s behavior that were hurtful but what really upset Beth is he put their son in the cross hairs of anyone who wanted to harm Omar.’

The secretive couple were spotted again later emerging from Omar’s home on Wednesday, September 25. Omar was smartly dressed in all white and left around 8.40am
Mynett was snapped leaving Omar’s home around 30 minutes after his congresswoman lover on Wednesday, September 25. He carried some athletic clothing in a plastic bag
The father-of-one was then seen walking to his eye-catching blue Mustang that was parked nearly two blocks away from Omar’s home
Mynett refused a further opportunity to speak with DailyMail.com, to respond to our allegations or explain his relationship with Omar and his frequent overnight stays.
Since leaving Beth, Mynett has been renting at a luxury residential complex in DC’s trendy Petworth neighborhood where a two-bedroom apartment costs around $3,000 a month.
But on 6:30pm on the evening of Sunday, September 15 he showed up at Omar’s basement pad carrying dry cleaning, groceries including eggs and yogurt, and two six packs of Stella Artois.
He left at around 10:30am the next day in smart business getup before hopping into his distinctive Mustang and driving to work.
Omar walked out of the same front door an hour later before getting into an aide’s car and heading to Capitol Hill.
At around 5:30pm that same day Mynett pulled up outside the apartment in the same Mustang and Omar got out of the passenger seat. She went inside alone but Mynett came back later with another bag of groceries. Neither of them had left the apartment by 8pm.
Chain smoking Mynett was back at the property the following Thursday evening, this time parking two blocks away and letting himself in with his own key at around 5:30pm. ‘Squad’ member Omar came home half an hour later.
She left at 9:20am the next day and got into a staffer’s car while Mynett stayed inside another 30 minutes before taking out the trash and walking to his own vehicle.
Omar was back in DC later that month and the pair were once more seen leaving the same apartment just moments apart on Friday September 27.
Mynett headed to his car at 9:20am, lit a cigarette then pulled up outside before Omar walked into the street and got into the vehicle.
The next morning, on Thursday, September 26, Mynett left Omar’s apartment and headed to his car
The campaign strategist circled back to Omar’s apartment, where Omar jumped into his waiting car around 7.30am

The bespectacled Democrat previously worked as national finance director for former Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison, whose seat Omar took over when he ran for Attorney General. Federal Election Commission records show Omar’s team began paying Mynett’s DC-based firm in August of 2018, splashing out $62,500 by the end of that year.
Payments continued into 2019, with $5,000, $10,000 and $12,000 chunks being shelled out every month, totaling just over $253,000 in a single year.
Mynett traveled with Omar all over the country, with pictures appearing of them side-by-side in New York City, Austin and Seattle as well as Los Angeles.
He has even spent time with Omar’s daughter Isra, a budding activist, with the trio photographed together on two separate occasions.
In January, Mynett posted an image on his Instagram of Omar’s name plaque outside of her congressional office, writing: ‘It’s been one hell of a journey. Incredibly proud of this fearless woman.’
Hirsi, meanwhile, has repeatedly refused to discuss his marriage to Omar, who wants a court to grant joint legal and physical custody of their three kids.
It was the second time the pair had separated after she originally left Hirsi to marry another man, Ahmed Elmi.
Omar has been accused of going into that marriage solely to allow Elmi – a British citizen – to enter the United States where he studied at North Dakota State University.
Political enemies have even claimed that Elmi is in fact her brother, an accusation that Omar has similarly refused to discuss.

Beth, a renowned reproductive health expert, has consistently declined to comment, telling DailyMail.com: ‘I have nothing further to say’.
But her divorce filing described how Mynett left her heartbroken when he announced he was ‘romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar’.
‘Although devastated by the betrayal and deceit that preceded his abrupt declaration, Plaintiff told Defendant that she loved him and was willing to fight for the marriage,’ the filing said.
‘Defendant, however, told her that was not an option for him. He provided no other explanation for his sudden change of heart.’
Beth wants primary custody of their son, child support and full ownership of their three-bed family home in northern DC, worth $900,000.
Mynett runs E Street Group with fellow veteran strategist William Hailer from a shared WeWork office space.
The ‘about us’ section on the company’s website has been taken down but Mynett reels off his career accomplishments and boasts of close ties with ‘national opinion leaders’ in an archived version accessed by DailyMail.com.
