I’m A Celeb South Africa SPOILER: Gillian McKeith brings contraband items into camp AGAIN

Gillian McKeith is reportedly set to get her fellow campmates into some hot water during Thursday evening’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa.

The TV personality and nutritionist, 63, is said to have brought contraband into the jungle in the form of salt and almond nuts, being forced to reveal her camp crimes during the episode.

In a failed attempt to outsmart ITV bosses, several of the celebrity campmates will be revealed to have also brought in restricted items – being caught out after just four days.

And it wouldn’t be a first offence for Gillian, who became synonymous with her sneaky attempts to bring some seasoning into the camp back in 2010.

Known for it’s strict rules, the show has a host of items which celebrities are banned to take into camp each year, including their own clothes, make-up, salt and pepper, food and pillows.

According to reports from The Mirror, the camp will receive a letter which reveals the contraband and declares that their dinner will be withheld until it is handed in.

During the episode, Georgia Toffolo allegedly reads out: ‘Celebrities, there is contraband in the camp. You will not get your dinner until you have surrendered – with all underlined – the contraband. There is an amnesty bowl in the Telegraph.’

As the campmates wonder who among them has broken the rules, Gillian will confide in Helen Flanagan and reveal her secrets to the actress.

Sneaking away, she whispers to the star: ‘I’ve got salt, I’ve got almonds’.

‘We’d get in so much s**t Gillian, do you not think?’ reportedly replies Helen.

But she’s thought not to be the only one, with some others hoping to have snuck some products through the cracks.

Gillian was caught smuggling rock salt, garlic powder and soup in secret pockets that she had sewn into her knickers during her original 2010 stint.

Her secret stash included a herb shaker (hidden in a toilet roll tube), 5 bags of Japanese miso soup powder, cumin powder, celery and garlic powder, 8 herbal stock cubes, rock salt, a bag of herbal seasoning powder and several nettle tea bags.

Many other stars have attempted to breach the rules over the years too, including Amy Willerton in 2013 – who handed in concealer, two bikinis and other make-up products she had snuck in.

It was a break of the rules as campmates are only permitted to bring three sets of underwear, and three sets of swimsuits or bikinis.

While they are usually granted one luxury item per person, with many often choosing a pillow, a chair or a photograph.

While four years prior to Amy’s scandal, Gino D’Acampo hoped to have some home comforts as he stuffed his shoes and pillow full of salt, sugar, teas and coffee.

When the show briefly moved to Wales, due to Covid-19, this didn’t stop celebs attempting to push the limits either.

At the time, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that campmates had attempted to sneak in a tray of products inclduing apples, boiled sweets, breakfast biscuits, Vaseline and a nail file.

In a bizarre attempt, Kim Woodburn also managed to smuggle a pair of sunglasses into camp in 2009.
