I’m A Celeb winner Vicky Pattison predicts Giovanna Fletcher will be first Queen of the Castle

Vicky Pattison predicts pal Giovanna Fletcher will be the first I’m A Celeb Queen of the Castle and admits she gets ‘jealous’ watching the ITV show from home.

The former winner, 33, told MailOnline she has come to the conclusion that Giovanna ‘doesn’t have a bad bone in her body’ after trying to find a fault in the podcaster’s personality – but failing.

In an exclusive interview, Vicky admitted to having a fear of missing out while watching the series and strangely longs for cockroaches to be crawling round her face as she misses earning that sense of achievement from completing a trial.

Vicky, who won I’m A Celeb in 2015, said: ‘I get FOMO. The show was such a pivotal moment in my career. I will always be so grateful to ITV for the opportunity.

‘When I watch it I get such jealousy. It takes me back to a really happy time in my life. I get jealous of them having cockroaches crawl over their face as I’m proper weird!

‘The adrenaline you feel and the sense of achievement – I am an adrenaline junky and get such a buzz from things like that. I am not transported as much with it not being in Australia so I don’t get as much nostalgia but usually I just sit there fuming.

‘I’ve got invested interest in the show this year too because I am obsessed with Giovanna Fletcher. I just love her so much.’

Vicky met Giovanna years ago through her brother and TOWIE star Mario Falcone and has previously guest starred on Loose Women alongside the mother-of-three.

The Geordie star believes Giovanna is deserving of the win over campmates Jordan North, 30, Vernon Kay, 49, and Shane Richie, 56, as she’s been ‘consistently lovely’ during a time that has needed people to be kind to each other.

She explained: ‘I keep waiting for some sort of edge to her but there isn’t one.

‘She’s kind, she’s a supporter of women, she’s a brilliant mam, she’s creative, and that’s my Queen right there. For me the writing has been on the wall since the get go and I’d like to see her win this year.

‘A couple of people say they love Vernon and he has been brilliant all the way through but Giovanna has been consistently lovely and that’s what this year needs. 2020 needs a Giovanna Fletcher.

‘I always say you can’t pretend to be something you’re not in there and that’s why the jungle is so lovely because you can’t be fake, you’re hungry and tired and missing your family.

‘You see people for what they are behind the glitz and glamour. I can’t fan girl her any harder.’

Giovanna spoke on I’m A Celeb about having Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton on her podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, and Vicky has revealed she also chatted with the host about her royal guest.

Vicky hopes to follow in her footsteps and have someone from the royal family on her podcast, The Secret To, after previously being tipped to marry Prince Harry – long before he met Meghan Markle.

She said: ‘Giovanna and I actually spoke about Kate Middleton and I actually thought I had competed treason at one point because I talked about her fanny!

‘She was super open about it, which made me feel like I was close to the royals in some way. I did have Paul Burrell on my podcast last week and he was also great.

‘I would love to get someone royal on – I’m not even fussy, I’ll have Eugenie! Even before The Crown, I was a royalist.

‘At one point I was like 20/1 to marry Prince Harry at one point. It was long before Meghan Markle obviously. Everyone over here hates Meghan Markle but I’ve got my own reasons!’

This Christmas, Vicky will celebrating with boyfriend Ercan Ramadan and has even convinced her other half to wear matching festive pyjamas.

After committing herself to charity work this year – in part to help distract her from falling into bad habits with her anxiety – Vicky is excited to spend her first Christmas with Ercan’s family, who she’s hoping to impress with one of her MasterChef perfected dishes.

She said: ‘We all had an option this year and I don’t want to sound self righteous but if I sat and allowed myself to dwell for too long about what was going on and losing work and missing my mam and being scared then it would have snowballed and I couldn’t allow that.

‘This year I am feeling so festive and desperate to have normality a bit of joy so I spent ages putting my Christmas tree up and I have bought matching Christmas PJs for Ercan and I.

‘Bless him, he is one of the nicest men I have ever let in my life. He is so easy going. I need someone to be easy going because I am neurotic and he just balances me, slightly.

‘Last year we spent Christmas with my family, which was our first Christmas together. So this year we are going to be down south and his family will be involved. I am going to bring a side dish and flex those MasterChef muscles!’

Vicky is working with charity Save the Children and Christmas Jumper Day, which will take place on Friday December 11, and encourages whoever can to raise money for those less fortunate.

The TV star is urging anyone possible to donate to the cause whether that be via a virtual quiz or in their social bubble, with the aim of making a difference to the world’s most vulnerable children in the UK and around the world.

Vicky said: ‘I have supported the Save the Children Christmas jumper campaign for some years now and I think the work they do is incredible.

‘Even before coronavirus hit there was 4million children living in poverty in the UK and that is not only food poverty but a lack of essential items and a lack of learning opportunities and since the virus, everything has been made much more difficult for absolutely everybody but we can’t ignore the people that were worse off to begin with.

‘The campaign includes emergency grants for families that have been impacted the most – the grants include early learning support, food vouchers, household products and across the board support.

‘All you have to do if you want to get involved – you don’t have to do much, you just have to chuck on a Christmas jumper next Friday December 11 and you can do anything – a virtual quiz to raise money or something with your social bubble, you could do a online happy hour, whatever it is, if you want to donate all you have to do is text 70050 and donate £2.’
