I’m a Celebrity Australia 2023: Line-up ‘leaks’ including Sam Burgess

I’m a Celebrity 2023 line-up is ‘leaked’ as NRL great Sam Burgess, comedian Tommy Little and chef Shannon Bennett are tipped for the jungle

The ninth season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! will premiere on April 2, and rumours are swirling about which stars are set to appear.

A recent trailer for the Channel 10 show confirms a footballer, comedian, boxer and chef have signed on – and now an insider has weighed in on the potential picks.

‘Rugby league star Sam Burgess would have to be front-runner. And the comedian is either Tommy Little or Peter Helliar,’ the source told New Idea.

They added that celebrity chef Shannon Bennett and lightweight boxing champion Lauryn Eagle were also likely candidates.

‘Tommy is one of the last comedians on Ten’s books and they might need to tie up a few loose ends with Pete’s contract after he left The Project,’ said the spy.

‘And after a few run-ins with the law, Lauryn seems well-suited for a redemption appearance,’ they added.

The upcoming season of I’m a Celebrity has been filmed in South Africa and will be presented by Dr Chris Brown, 44, and Julia Morris, 54.

The latest trailer shows the hosts performing a song with back-up dancers and wild animals on a plane headed to the African jungle.

Last year’s season was won by television host Dylan Lewis and the runner-up was musician Brooke McClymont.

Others to appear on the reality show include radio host Abbie Chatfield in 2021 and late cricketer Shane Warne in 2016.

It comes after I’m a Celeb host Dr Chris Brown quit Channel 10 after 15 years, signing with rival network Channel Seven.

However, he has already committed to this year’s season of the jungle-based reality show for Ten and won’t start work at Seven until the second half of 2023.
