I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia ends with shock eviction – and fans are ‘livid’ over the exit: ‘How dare you split them up?!’

I’m A Celebrity fans were shocked on Wednesday night as contestants faced elimination with Denise Drysdale, Candice Warner and Ellie Cole in the bottom three.

With ‘over half a million votes’ cast to save their favourite stars, Denise, 76, was sent home – but it seemed the television presenter was eager to leave.

The Studio 10 star bid her fellow celebrities a bittersweet goodbye, before telling hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris she was glad to be out of the jungle for good.

‘Oh, it was more than what I expected,’ she admitted, adding that there was nothing ‘bitter’ about her exit despite only entering the camp as an intruder last week.

‘Can I say not so bitter?! It’s sweet! I’m sorry, I have to be – I have to be completely honest!’

She continued: ‘It is s**t in there! It is s**t, it’s unbelievable! The dunnies, the dirt! Now I’m a clean person – there’s dirt upon dirt upon dirt upon dirt.’

Despite her subpar experience in the South African jungle, Denise said she was ‘glad’ to have gone on the show and ‘proud’ of what she accomplished on it.

However, fans flocked to X – formerly known as Twitter – to express their fury and dismay over Denise’s exit from the show.

‘Sad to see Ding-Dong Denise Drysdale go home,’ one person tweeted.

Another said, ‘How dare you c**ts split up Callum and Denise,’ referring to the close friendship the pair struck up during their time on the show.

‘What?! Livid Denise is gone,’ a third commented, while someone else wrote: ‘Wtf ya’ll chose to vote out Denise over Candice.’

It comes after Denise shocked her campmates last Thursday night when she revealed what her unique ‘luxury items’ were.

Every year, the celebrities are able to choose a luxury item they can win during the series, with stars often choosing pictures of their loved ones, comfortable cushions and beauty products.

However, Denise received mixed reactions from her campmates when she revealed her unique luxury items were her mother and father’s ashes.

Her admission prompted very mixed reactions from her co-stars, with some looking completely stunned, while others appeared moved by the gesture.
