I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans praise Skye Wheatley for surprise reaction to ‘confronting’ challenge: ‘She is legit Tomb Raider’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Skye Wheatley has been praised by fans for the way she handled an ‘insane’ challenge on the show.

The social media star, who shot to fame on Big Brother in 2014, was chosen to participate in the infamous ‘Viper Room’ challenge during Sunday night’s episode.

Skye broke down as she arrived at the site and was instructed to lie in a dark box underground filled with snakes for 12 minutes while answering a series of questions about her fellow campmates in an effort to win 12 stars.

‘This trial is claustrophobic, it’s confronting and it is very frightening,’ host Robert Irwin, 20, said.

After initially closing her eyes inside the chamber in order to stay calm, Irwin encouraged the mother-of-two to ‘open her eyes’ and enjoy the ‘incredible spectacle’.

‘It is pretty cool actually,’ she admitted.

After finishing the challenge, the 30-year-old confessed she ‘loved’ the experience.

‘I felt like at that point we were comfortable in there together and I was one with the snakes and I was feeling really good energy,’ she said.
