I’m A Celebrity: James Haskell SNAPS at Ant and Dec after live trial fail as viewers BLAST ‘impossible’ challenge and brand it a ‘fix’

Sunday’s I’m A Celebrity ended in tension as James Haskell snapped at hosts Ant and Dec after losing out in the live trial.

The show saw eight of the celebrities take part in a Love Island themed challenge where they had to compete in several smaller trials in a bid to win themselves a roast dinner.

However, James and Roman Kemp’s part of the challenge proved very difficult to complete, with James losing his cool and viewers branding the ‘impossible’ trial a ‘fix’.

Things had been going well for the camp mates as they had so far accumulated nine out of twelve possible stars, having successfully completed tasks including fishing for stars out of disgusting pies and passing pigs testicles to each other using only their mouths.

But James and Roman had the most challenging mission of all as they had to lie on a daybed covered in snakes and unscrew stars which were in boxes full of critters.

The duo had 90 seconds in which James had to unscrew his stars and pass them on to Roman, who in turn had to re-screw them in his boxes.

However, a huge and snappy crab prevented the duo from accessing the star completing the challenge, with the troublesome crustacean proving particularly difficult for James.

The pair seemed downcast after losing out in the trial and things didn’t improve when Ant and Dec queried what went wrong.

An irritated James snapped back at the Geordie Duo, blaming the crab for getting in the way, and hitting out at their insistence that he should take it easy when handling the creature.

The pair were taken aback by his words, but the incident was swiftly brushed under the carpet as they continued with the show.

However, viewers at home were left seething with the trial, with many declaring that it was ‘impossible’ to complete.

Some even accused show bosses of ‘fixing’ the trial so as to cause tension and unrest amidst the hungry campers.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: ‘Impossible task that last one’, with another adding: ‘Clearly not enough time in that challenge. Unfair.’

A third ranted: ‘That task was ridiculous. A minute per star would’ve been fair, and still difficult. ITV bosses clearly didn’t want some people to eat tonight.’

A fourth wrote: ‘What kind of challenge was that last one?! Impossible for anyone to do.’

‘That was a fix. There was no way those 3 stars could have been transferred in 90 secs even without critters. Fixed so people do and don’t eat for our entertainment..’ speculated a fifth.

Fuming: Viewers at home were left seething with the trial, with many declaring that it was 'impossible' to complete

‘That last task was a fix – not enough time and the crabs far too big for that box especially for James large hands to – impossible! Think they are just hoping Ian snaps to be honest!’ remarked a sixth.

Another viewer fumed: ‘that was an outrage… total fix/setup they weren’t meant to get all 12 starts from the start of that. Almost like you want them to be #Hangry!! Take this as an official complaint! That was just not fair!!!’

With another adding: ‘The producers wanted to cause a rift in the camp it’s obvious, but if you’re gonna fix a trial, don’t make it so damn obvious!’

The final failure in the trial meant that Ian, Cliff and Andy would miss out on a roast dinner.

Meanwhile, Andy, Kate, Myles and Nadine were off on a separate mission in a bid to win care packages for the group.

The outcome of which will be aired on Tuesday’s show.

I’m A Celebrity continues nightly at 9pm on ITV.
