I’m A Celebrity’s Julia Morris makes an epic blunder as she insults her new co-host Robert Irwin during live interview on The Project

I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here host Julia Morris suffered a major blunder just hours after it was announced she would co-host the show with Robert Irwin.

Appearing on The Project on Tuesday night, the 55-year-old was questioned about what ‘dynamic’ would exist between the pair – only to refer to him as a ‘child’.

‘Robert is only a whisper older than my eldest child and there’s a lot of children around my home,’ she said, before quickly correcting herself.

‘Children. Wrong word. Young adults,’ she said, trying to brush past her mistake as she placed two hands on Robert’s shoulder.

‘I feel a tremendous friendship and great mutual respect between the two of us and we’re each finding each other very funny,’ she added.

The panel, including Kate Langbroek and Sarah Harris burst into laughter, with Robert just taking the awkward moment in his stride.

‘I feel like you’re going to feel the energy levels from there when we are in Africa. They are going to be going through the roof,’ Robert said.

Robert went on to confirm the entire Irwin clan would be going to Africa alongside him, saying: ‘My mum and my whole family are coming with me to Africa.

‘We’re all going together. It’s going to be wonderful.’

Robert went on to confirm the use of consumptive wildlife on the show would end, with ‘tucker trials’ now only using sustainably-farmed animals.

‘I’m A Celebrity have vowed to cease all wildlife in the show. The entire consumptive use of wildlife is done and ceased,’ he said.

‘All of those eating trials still continue. The shock factor is still there. But it is with sustainably-farmed animals cows, pigs, chickens, things like that.’

Robert went on to say how proud he is to be part of such a world-leading change.

‘So I am very proud of what we are doing together to really hit home and lead by example with wildlife conservation. We’re forging a new path.’

Speaking to the Herald Sun about the new role, Robert couldn’t contain his excitement.

‘This just feels like it was meant to be,’ he told the publication.

It isn’t the first time Robert has appeared in the jungle.

In 2016, the photographer appeared as a guest on the show alongside his mum, Terri, and sister Bindi.

He admitted he’s been a ‘massive fan of the show’ every since.

‘I was knee-high to a grasshopper and had the bowl cut,’ he recalled. ‘I loved so much getting to do that show.’
