Land your dream role! How to use AI to prep for an upcoming job interview

  • Copy and paste the job listing into ChatGPT
  • Tell it to generate mock interview questions and analyze the job description for the top 10 keywords
  • Brainstorm responses with examples that correspond to the 10 keywords

She explained that the first thing you would need to do was copy and paste the entire listing to ChatGPT.

‘Start with your job description, we want to copy and paste the whole thing into ChaptGPT,’ Hanna added.

Next, you want to use AI to generate interview questions.

‘And then we are going to tell it to generate interview questions for each bullet point in the job description, and analyze the job description for the top 10 keywords,’ she said.

After doing that, ChatGPT gave Hanna five different interview questions ranging from inquiries about your experience to customer service.

It also gave Hanna 10 keywords.

After receiving the questions, Hanna said: ‘You want to brainstorm responses to each question and make sure that the examples you’re giving are corresponding to these 10 keywords.

‘You don’t need to necessarily say them explicitly, but you want your examples to demonstrate that you have these skills.’

She added that by doing this ‘you’ll know that you are highlighting the most relevant pieces of your experience rather than just projects that you may be proud of, which might not always be the same thing.’

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Hanna revealed she had used AI for everything from planning her birthday party to searching for jobs.

She added that she hoped both job seekers and hiring managers would adapt to this new reality of technology.

‘Jobseekers must adapt to this new reality. It is crucial to approach job applications with intention and focus on building a meaningful network,’ Hanna said.

‘Instead of mass applying to numerous positions, investing effort into a small number of applications will yield better results.’

And while she is a firm believer in using technology to your advantage, she noted that you shouldn’t forget to ‘nurture’ the existing connections you have with people and network with others.
