Get skin like a model! The skincare and beauty flying tips that will give you a radiant boost

  • Never wear makeup
  • Use the En Route Essentials Kit ($38) from her brand care.ē.on
  • Always use hand sanitizer
  • Hydrate
  • Wear socks, a hoodie, and sweatpants
  • Don’t pick any blemishes

Madison said the negative effects of flying include: ‘Dehydration, which affects overall skin health. When my skin is dry, I’m more prone to breakouts, fine lines, and dark circles.’

She explained that to combat these effects she makes sure to stay extremely hydrated, and even uses a mask while in the air.

‘I always drink tons of water with electrolytes on the flight as well as moisturize my skin with a hydrating mask,’ she told DailyMail.com

And because flying dehydrates your skin, making it more prone to breakouts, Madison even shared a tip for those who want to pick away at their blemishes while on a plane.

Her number one tip is to avoid picking and touching your face.

‘Keep hands off the face! Being in the airport, our hands come in to contact with so much bacteria.

‘Don’t pop blemishes on the flight, leave them to your facialist when you land,’ she told DailyMail.com

And although you may want to look your best as soon as you land, the model revealed it wasn’t worth sporting makeup on the plane.

She told DailyMail.com that even a touch of glam on a flight was a ‘recipe for breakouts.’

‘Even if I’m coming straight from a photoshoot to a flight, you will never catch me flying with makeup on.

‘The airplane cabin is very dry and dehydrates the skin. Pores blocked with makeup and skin being dry is a recipe for a breakout,’ she said.

Because she doesn’t recommend wearing any glam while flying, she uses her En Route Essentials Kit  ($38) from her brand care.ē.on.

‘The En Route Essentials Kit by care.ē.on has everything you need to look your best before you land. It’s packed with hydration tools to get your skin glowing and fresh!’ she said.

The kit includes a hand sanitizer, hydrating pads, a facial mist, and a hydrating mask.

She revealed that the kit was a must for traveling and branded it the one beauty product she could never travel without.

Madison also shared the essentials everyone should keep with them while flying.

‘Water to stay hydrated internally and moisturizer to stay hydrated externally, hand sanitizer, refillable water bottle, comfortable clothing (I prefer sweatpants and hoodie so my legs and hair don’t touch the seat), socks (going through airport security barefoot is gross),’ she told DailyMail.com.

And the model – who has strutted for Prada and appeared on Calvin Klein billboards – even detailed the products you should always have in your carry-on.

She revealed the products you should always have in your carry on are ‘medication, glasses, Aquaphor, care.ē.on kit, sunscreen, and tinted moisturizer.’

Lastly, the jet-setting model revealed her favorite in-air hacks that she has picked up after flying so often.

She told DailyMail.com: ‘Pack less in your carry on. You won’t need everything you think you need… it will only weigh you down (literally) lugging it around the airport. Leave the book at home, you know you’ll be watching movies. Pack essentials only!

‘Organize your carry on bag. I have a bad habit of throwing everything into my purse and when going through customs, feel frantic trying to dig to find my passport.

‘I’m so much more relaxed when everything I need is organized into smaller bags/pouches within my bag and I know where everything is.

‘Mobile Passport app! I’m not sure why more people don’t know about this trick. There’s no interview or application process, and the line for Mobile Passport at customs is always the shortest!’

Lastly, she advised frequent flyers to ‘bring compression socks to wear in the cabin.’
