  • The car expert also explained why they are unreliable

One of TikTok’s most popular mechanics has lifted the hood on America’s three most unreliable cars.

The automotive expert, known as Rudy’s Cars on social media, shared a warning about the models that are most likely to leave you stranded after rival mechanic, David Long, shared the cars he believes to be the most reliable.

In the video, Rudy shares the various reasons why his selected cars aren’t made to last.

He revealed that drivers should steer clear of Jeep Cherokees, Nissan Rogues and Dodge Journeys.

The clip was captioned: ‘My opinion – three unreliable car brands.’

Keep it off the road! Three car models to avoid, according to a mechanic

  • Jeep Cherokee
  • Nissan Rogue
  • Dodge Journey

‘These are the top three unreliable car models. First up is the Jeep Cherokee,’ he said.

‘Listen everybody, I am not the first guy saying this and I won’t be the last. Jeep Cherokees are not reliable in my book.

‘You may own a Jeep Cherokee and it may be a great car for you but I go off the average consumer and consumer reports.’

The first full-size SUV Jeep Cherokee was released in 1974, while the fifth generation of the vehicle was launched in 2014.

Rudy next criticized the popular car brand Nissan for its Rogue vehicle model before apologizing to drivers who frequently take it on the road.

‘Next up, and I’m sorry to do this, but the Nissan Rogue. Nissan has a lot of potential to make very, very good cars,’ he said.

‘I have a love-hate relationship with Nissan because they make some good cars and some not so good cars. Obviously its downfall is the transmission.

‘So Nissan Rogue, you’re on the list. Sorry but not sorry.’

The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover SUV that was first launched back in 2008.

The last car he advised drivers to avoid was the Dodge Journey.

The mechanic noted that this vehicle had ‘potential engine failure and transmission breakages.’

At the end of the clip, he added: ‘I am not a fan of the Dodge Journey.’

Like the Nissan Rogue, the Dodge Journey is another crossover SUV. It was first launched in 2009 and lasted through a single generation until 2020.

People flooded the comments section and expressed their shock at learning their car was on the list as they thanked him for his warning.

One person said: ‘I have a Nissan rogue and a Dodge journey.’

Someone else added: ‘I owned a Dodge Journey and that overheated all the time. Nobody could fix the issue. The worst car!’

Another user wrote: ‘Me sitting here with a journey & get severely scared every time I drive to school that I’m going to break down.’

One person commented: ‘I had to trade in my Jeep because Jeep sucks. I got a Lexus.’
