He often shares videos boasting a range of content, from reviews and hacks to general life updates.
In a recent clip, which has garnered some 800,000 views, Mark shared a hack he uses to save money when eating out at McDonald’s, spending £1.99 on the meal, which usually costs around £4.
His system involves filling out a customer satisfaction survey, which provides users with a voucher for the discounted meal.
TikTokker Mark Brown has revealed how savvy diners can use a hack to save money on meals at McDonald’s
Speaking in the video, Mark says: ‘All right guys, go to McDonald’s, I’m going to show you how you get a burger and chips for £1.99.’
The video shows him using one of the computerised ordering points, where he right clicks on the fries menu.
‘Then,’ Mark explain, ‘just buy the cheapest sauce you can…and pay for that.’
He orders and pays 50p for a portion of sauce, at which point, the machine prints out his receipt for the order.
The receipt has a code on it, which diners need in order to fill out the survey.
After completing the survey, which involves giving your email address, McDonald’s will then email customers a voucher.
This voucher entitles the diner to buy a Big Mac with either medium fries or a salad for just £1.99 – a saving of more than 50 per cent on the usual price.
In the video, Mark concludes: ‘And there you go. There’s my free voucher for the £1.99 Big Mac and fries. Happy Days.’
After buying the 50p sauce, the TikTokker got a receipt for his purchase. The receipt boasts a code which is needed to fill out a customer survey, which rewards participants with a voucher
After using the voucher to buy his meal, he points out that the till prints out another receipt, with a survey code, which can be used to buy another meal.
The video, which garnered more than 560 comments, attracted mixed responses from viewers.
Some noted that the meal’s total cost was not actually £1.99, as he had to first buy the sauce, and that was an additional cost.
One explained: ’50p for the sauce and then £1.99. 50p + £1.99 = ?.??’
A further commentator wrote: ‘ok because some are thinking it I’ll say it £2.49 cos you had to pay for the sauce.’
The video prompted a range of responses from viewers, with some pointing out that the meal actually cost £2.49 in total, as he had spent 50p on the sauce
However, others were appreciative of the hack, and found the information useful. As one wrote: ‘I do this all the time…the cost of living is real.’
And one worried that widespread knowledge of the hack might prompt McDonald’s to change the policy.
They wrote: ‘They will change it now everyone knows about it.’
However, some said the hack seemed like too much effort, and they would prefer to pay full price for the meal.
According to one commentator: ‘All that to save a quid my time is more precious brother.’
