The couple seem to have treated their 120 guests to an entire weekend of festivities, with Instagram Stories showing their nearest and dearest enjoying several dinners together during the course of the three-day celebration.

But while the bride put on quite the fashionable display throughout the weekend, the show-stopper was, of course, her wedding dress, which was made especially for her at the team at Oscar de la Renta and featured a beautiful cathedral-length veil and Lyon lace embroidery.

According to the brand’s co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, Caroline came in with a ‘very clear’ idea of what she wanted her dress to look like, and the designer duo told Vogue that the tennis pro landed on her chosen design fairly quickly.

‘She was very clear that she wanted something lace-oriented with structure,’ the creative experts revealed. ‘She ultimately came in the first time with two friends and was FaceTiming with her mom.

‘She tried [our selected dresses] on — slim-fitted silhouettes, ballgowns, lots of different types. She tried a couple of lace looks, and we landed on this quite quickly.’

The tennis pro then finished off the ensemble with a pair of custom Jimmy Choo heels, and according to a post shared on the Oscar de la Renta Instagram account, proceeded to ‘float’ down the impressive 262-foot aisle at the ceremony.

‘An ethereal gown embellished with cascading florals is the most remarkable way to float down a 262-foot long aisle,’ the post – which featured a behind-the-scenes video of the design process – detailed.

Caroline then wore her long blonde locks in loose waves around her shoulders, with the ‘do seemingly enhanced with extensions that allowed her hair to reach almost down to her waist; her makeup was glamorous and glowing, with a focus on her radiant complexion and long fluttering lashes.

Her husband meanwhile looked incredibly dapper in a black suit, complete with a matching bow tie and a floral boutonniere in his lapel. All of his also groomsmen wore matching all-black ensembles.

After the wedding took place, Caroline took some time to toast her nuptials alongside her guests, before the group enjoyed a candlelit dinner outside – and then went on to live it up at a dynamic disco.

When it came to the wedding plans, newlywed Caroline revealed to Vogue that she and David settled on Italy after originally considering venues in the South of France, explaining: ‘We love Italy—we’ve had the best vacations there.

‘We love the food, the wine, everything, so we started looking at Italy and found this place that’s absolutely amazing.’

Food certainly seems to have played a  major role in the celebrations, with guests enjoying a beautiful outdoor dinner after the ceremony, while surrounded by floating candles and fairylights as far as the eye could see.

The night before the wedding, the soon-to-be newlyweds invited their lucky guests to join them for another fun-filled meal, where they were kept entertained by live musicians as they enjoyed delicious delicacies, once again in an outdoor setting.

And again, blushing bride Caroline did not disappoint with her fashion picks, choosing to wear a white dress with brightly-colored flower embroidery overlayed in lace. The ensemble was completed with a matching flower crown and a simple black box clutch.

And the Italian celebration hasn’t stopped in Siena; while many of Caroline’s guests appear to have seized the opportunity to enjoy take in some tourist hot spots before returning home, Caroline and David have sailed away on a ‘mini moon’ to Portofino.

Posting on her Instagram account, newlywed Caroline shared several images of herself posing in a stunning white-and-blue ensemble on the deck of a boat, as well as a picture of herself and David enjoy a kiss over a cake and a bottle of champagne.

The choice to sail away on a romantic adventure is incredibly fitting; David actually proposed after whisking Caroline off on a sunset cruise during a vacation to Bora Bora in November 2017 – 18 months before they tied the knot.

‘I had just won Singapore, the last event of the year, and we went to Bora Bora on vacation, and he said that he didn’t know when he was going to propose, but that he had the ring, and it’s burning in my bag, it’s burning in my pocket, so I need to do it,’ she recalled to Vogue.

As for the ring itself, Davida proposed with a stunning 8.88 carat diamond in honor of Caroline’s lucky number (eight), and the tennis pro says she was dazzled by the sweet gesture.

And when it came to putting the plans together, Caroline turned to a true styling and events expert: Vogue editor-in-chief and Met Gala chair Anna Wintour.

‘I emailed Anna [Wintour] and said I needed help,’ the bride revealed. ‘Anna kindly said, “I would love to help you—what would you like?” So I sent her inspiration photos, and she suggested I come to her office so we could talk about it.

‘So I went in, and we discussed ideas.’

And the rest, as they say, is history – however it is unknown whether Anna was a guest at the intimate ceremony this weekend, which took place almost a year after her own daughter, Bee Shaffer, tied the knot with her husband Francesco Carrozzini.

One aspect of the nuptials that Caroline appeared to need little to no help with however was the bachelorette party, which took place in the Bahamas in April, and was attended by the likes of Serena and Hannah Jeter.

Images from the celebration showed the bride wearing a white swimsuit and posing on the edge of an infinity pool surrounded by her ‘best crew’ – who were all suitably clad in black swimwear that bore the label ‘Caro’s Crew’.
