The ‘bomb cyclone’, otherwise known as winter storm Grayson which dumped up to 18 inches of snow in parts of the Northeast on Thursday, has passed.
But the remnants of the nor’easter has provided for stunning aerial photos as Americans from as far north as Maine to as far south as Georgia began to dig out from the storm on Friday.
The Northeast was gripped Friday by freezing temperatures and wind chills that dropped to the single digits – in some cases below zero.
The severe winter storm froze pipes and disrupted services at refineries on the Atlantic coast, sending fuel prices higher as heavy snowfall and high winds caused electricity outages for almost 80,000 homes and businesses.
The snow and the freezing cold have been blamed for 21 deaths as well.

Central Park’s green lawns are turned white, the mighty Hudson is overtaken by ice bergs and Lady Liberty stands resolute in amazing aerial photos taken a day after New York City was battered with a major snow storm.
The photos, which show the Big Apple turned into a frozen tundra, don’t look dissimilar to the fictional Manhattan that was frozen over in the apocalyptic blockbuster film The Day After Tomorrow.

‘Today, I thought Manhattan was going to have the streets cleaned up, but I see not,’ said Valentine Williams, who usually operates an electric scooter to deliver food in New York City.
The snow forced Williams, 28, to make deliveries on foot. No customers complained that he was slower than usual.
‘They’re just surprised that I‘m out here,’ he added.
