Detectives say the stalking, which began in October 2017 and continued until a few days ago, had frightened the young girl.

Officers released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

Investigating officer Police Constable Laura Goodban of Thames Valley Police said: ‘The victim was left feeling shaken up and frightened by these incidents.

‘On numerous occasions the victim has described a man watching and then following her through the city.

‘We would like to speak to the man pictured in this CCTV image as he may have information about these incidents

‘We would also like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed someone behaving in this way.

‘We take the offence of stalking very seriously and strongly encourage victims to report any instances.’
