Inflatable replica of Ecto-1 car from Ghostbusters is blown away by strong winds

I ain’t afraid of no gust! Inflatable replica of Ecto-1 car from Ghostbusters is blown away by strong winds

  • Heavy winds in Alberta, Canada this week sent the inflatable car speeding away
  • In Ghostbusters, the Ecto-1 is made from a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis
  • This inflatable version is flipped over by strong gusts due to replica’s light frame

This is the moment an inflatable replica of the car made famous by Ghostbusters appears to speed off after it’s blown away by strong winds.

Heavy gusts in Alberta, Canada earlier this week sent the Ecto-1 inflatable speeding across a lawn and into a road captured in CCTV footage.

Due to the replica’s light weight, it is flipped over by the strong winds before righting itself and charging through residential streets.

The vehicle is used in the film franchise by Peter Venkman, played by Bill Murray, and his ghostbusting colleagues to capture supernatural creatures.

The franchise spans numerous films, comic books, video games and more, of which the vehicle is a major part.

In the film, the Ecto-1, made from a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis, has a red light on the roof used to notify fictional residents of New York City that the Ghostbusters are on their way to deal with a supernatural creature.

The vehicle had enough room to store Proton Packs for all of the crew, and was upgraded in later incarnations of the franchise.
