Perth-based influencer Lauren Curtis has shared heartbreaking news about fiancé Recce Daniel’s worsening liver disease.
The 31-year-old lifestyle guru took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal the alarming details about the former footy player’s failing health.
Answering a series of fan questions in a Q&A, she said her partner is suffering from ulcerative colitis (UC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC).
UC is a chronic bowel disease which typically affects those who also suffer from the chronic liver disease PSC.
‘His liver disease is getting worse so he doesn’t have the energy he used to to work out,’ Lauren told her followers when they asked about Reece’s condition.

‘But he still stays fit from work and the stuff he does around the house,’ she added.
‘He’s in a limbo period where he’s not sick enough for a liver transplant, but he’s sick enough that it’s likely around the corner.’
Lauren added that while Reece’s UC ‘went into remission’ he had an awful flare up with his PSC last year and his liver is now deteriorating from scarring.

And while Reece has been bravely managing his poor health for the last ten years, Lauren confessed she was struggling to cope.
‘It’s been really hard but I don’t like complaining because I’m not the one who’s sick,’ she told one follower who asked how she is coping.
‘I think about his sickness more than he does. Just last night he had a fever and I was just laying in bed trying to distract myself from my thoughts.’
‘His liver disease is getting worse so he doesn’t have the energy he used to to work out,’ Lauren told her followers when they asked about Reece’s condition
While Reece has been bravely managing his poor health for the last 10 years, Lauren confessed she was struggling to cope
Lauren and Reece started dating in 2014 and though it’s not clear when they got engaged, the pair built a house together in 2023 in the southwest of WA.
The beauty blogger has previously been very open about their desire to not bring children into the world.
She took to YouTube in 2021 and said the ‘number one thing’ she and Reece enjoy having is the freedom to do what they want and focus on themselves.
In the video, Lauren said Reece has a huge family but he is happy only being an uncle, while Lauren only desires prioritising herself over starting a family.
