Influencer reveals ‘party of the year’ at Bondi Icebergs attended by Pip Edwards was BORING

An influencer who attended the last-ever New Year’s Day party at Bondi Icebergs over the weekend has branded the event ‘not much fun’.

Billed as Sydney’s ‘party of the year’, the $650-a-head soiree was attended by local celebrities such as P.E. Nation designer Pip Edwards and her cricket star ex-boyfriend Michael Clarke. 

Yet TikTok star Sophia Kim, 30, says the party was so underwhelming that she had more fun going for a swing at the park afterwards. 

The American expat, who goes by the online moniker Sophia In Sydney, shared her disappointment in a TikTok video on Wednesday, telling her fans: ‘Quite frankly, it wasn’t that fun.’ 

‘I went to the IT party of the year, which is on New Year’s Day at Icebergs.  And people kept hyping it up because it’s supposed to be the last one that they’re ever going to do ever again,’ Ms Kim said as footage of the crowded party flashed on-screen. 

The swimwear designer said she was looking forward to the VIP party seeing it was going to be the last one.

She also believed the event, named The Last Dance, would somehow pay homage to Michael Jordan as the basketball star’s recent Netflix docuseries had the same name. 

‘And maybe they are thinking like me, where it’s like 2023, 23 is his number,’ she added. 

Ms Kim was sorely disappointed.

On Tuesday, Sophia uploaded this photo of the racy outfit she wore to the New Year’s Day party at Icebergs

Footage of Ms Kim on a swing set at the park began playing, as she continued: ‘And then I walked to the park and rode these swings. And this made me feel more at peace. Like, who else can relate? Oh my god, I’m weird.’  

Sydney’s hottest socialites descended upon the iconic restaurant on Sunday  to celebrate 20 years since the legendary New Year’s Day bash was first launched.

Terzini did not give a specific reason why he’s called time on the event

Restaurateur Maurice Terzini, who owns Icebergs, put in an edgy appearance in latex platform boots with clear Perspex heels. 

He wore an asymmetric tunic with zipper details under a long black blazer, and added a cross earring to the 1990s style ensemble.   

Terzini said on Sunday that it was important to him, after such a challenging period, to give people an opportunity to let loose and party. 

‘After the lockouts and after Covid I think that it is really important that everyone just celebrates,’ he said.

‘We want to eat well, we want to drink well and we want to have fun.’ 

Terzini did not give a specific reason why he’s called time on the event.
