Influencer slammed for filming herself closing her eyes behind the wheel of a car while her kids tell her when the traffic light turns green

An Australian influencer has alarmed her fans after she shared a shocking clip to social media which showed her closing her eyes behind the wheel at a red traffic light.

Beauty entrepreneur Nova Jane Ward posted a video to TikTok which captured her arriving at a red light while driving, with her two young sons in the back seat.

Upon stopping at the lights, Ward closed her eyes and asks, “Boys, can you tell me when the cars are going?” and then rested with her eyes shut for 20 seconds.

Her young son then informs her the cars ahead of them are now moving, which prompted Ward to open her eyes and resume driving.

Ward captioned the footage with some informative words: ‘Every mumma knows this feeling,’ alongside the hashtags #mumlife #tired #nosleep.’

Australian drivers are advised by Motor Vehicle authorities to never take their eyes off the road when behind the wheel, as it significantly increases the chances of an accident.

VicRoads report on their website that: ‘Taking your eyes off the road for just two seconds or more doubles your crash risk.’

Ward is the founder of Fitcover Australia, a brand of mineral foundation that has been dubbed a gym bag essential by women who want their makeup to stay put when working out.

The foundation is a mineral product that has been specially designed to offer maximum coverage using natural ingredients.

The idea for the innovative cosmetic item was sparked by the brand’s founder, Nova Jane, a fitness enthusiast who also struggled with sensitive skin and acne.

In 2014, Ward sought out experts who through trial and error over a three year period eventually made her dream a reality.

In 2017, Fitcover Australia was launched – a product uniquely designed for those wanting long-lasting coverage without it sweating off and irritating the skin.
