ING Australia bank slashes ATM and transaction fees

An Australian bank has slashed ATM fees globally and dropped its fees for international transactions.

ING Australia announced the decision on Friday, in a move that will hopefully see the big four banks follow suit. 

The changes apply to ING’s Orange Everyday transaction account and Orange One credit card.

Account owners must deposit at least $1,000 into their Orange Everyday account each month to be eligible for no ATM and international fees.

Starting from March 1 next year, they must also make at least five card purchases monthly to remain eligible.

‘We want to reward our customers for making ING their main bank so today we’re announcing that eligible Orange Everyday account holders will pay no fees for domestic or global ATM withdrawals,’ she said.

‘We’re also dropping our fees for transactions made overseas or on international websites.

‘Orange One Credit Card holders can also benefit from zero ING fees for international purchases when shopping overseas, including online’.
