From dating tech executives to mastermind musicians, billionaire Elon Musk’s tumultuous love life is as varied as it is dramatic, including three marriages, three divorces – two of which were from the same woman – and a whopping 12 children.
What’s more, the Tesla mogul, 52, appears to be on exceptionally good terms with his old romances – and reportedly jetted to the UK to attend his ex Talulah Riley’s wedding to actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster last week.
But the entrepreneur’s notoriously messy personal history is also riddled with will-they-won’t-they break-ups and family fallouts.
In 2022, his child Xavier filed court documents seeking to legally change their gender from male to female and lose their last name, stating: ‘I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.’
Xavier Musk, 18, filed the paperwork in Santa Monica, California, on April 18, seeking to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, taking the maiden name of his mother Justine Wilson, who was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008.

SHIVON ZILIS: CURRENTLY DATING. THREE CHILDREN
Currently, the South African-born tycoon is in a relationship with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, who works for his brain implant company. He has just confirmed that they recently welcomed a third baby.
The billionaire businessman says there was never any intention to keep the new arrival under wraps, but that putting out a press release would also have been ‘bizarre’, although the baby’s name and gender have not been revealed.
‘All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean “secret”‘, he said to Page Six, about the birth.
The baby, believed to have been born earlier this year, was mentioned for the first time in a report by Bloomberg entitled ‘Elon Wants You to Have More Babies’.
Elon and Shivon who works as Neuralink Corp.’s director of special projects, already share two-and-a-half-year-old twins Strider and Azure who were born in November 2021. The pair have featured in several of Shivon’s social media posts.
Shivon, who was born in Ontario, Canada, met Elon through OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research-and-deployment nonprofit Elon co-founded in 2015, Insider reported.

GRIMES: DATED 2018 – 2002. THREE CHILDREN
Elon and singer Grimes, 36, began dating in April 2018, a month before they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala.
A source told Page Six at the time that they met online ‘through a joke about artificial intelligence that Musk had planned to tweet, but discovered Grimes had already made’.
Rumours started to swirl that they had split by that fall, after the pair unfollowed each other on X, however, Grimes insisted that they were still together during a March 2019 interview with Wall Street Journal.
Then, in January 2020, she announced that she was pregnant with their first child via Instagram, when she shared a pic of her baby bump, with no caption. They welcomed their son in May of the same year.

After his birth, the couple were forced to change the spelling of their son’s name in order to comply with California law, which prohibits the use of any numbers of symbols in a name.
Instead of X Æ A-12, they revealed just a few weeks after the baby was born that his birth certificate would be registered under the name X AE A-Xii – using the Roman numeral version of the number ’12’ and changing the character æ to AE.
More than a year after welcoming their son – in September 2021 – Elon told Page Six that they were ‘semi-separated.’
‘We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,’ he said. ‘ It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.’
In December 2021, they welcomed their second child via surrogate.
In a 2022 Vanity Fair interview, Grimes said she ‘would probably refer to Elon as her boyfriend,’ adding that the relationship was ‘very fluid’.

While chatting with the mag, the singer admitted that she took issue with the Tesla founder’s penny-pinching lifestyle, recalling a time when they were living together in Los Angeles when he refused to buy a new mattress, despite her telling him that her side of the bed had a hole in it.
She added that Elon’s decision to live in an ‘insecure’ house where their neighbours were able to film them and where they had no security was not something that she felt comfortable with.
‘Bro does not live like a billionaire,’ she said. ‘Bro lives at times below the poverty line. To the point where I was like, can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house?’
Last year, it also emerged the former couple had a third child, Techno Mechanicus. Little is known about the child including his exact date of birth.
In October, reports also revealed that Grimes was suing Elon over the parental rights of their three kids.
The performer filed a ‘petition to establish parental relationship’ on September 29 in a California court.
The petition is a means of identifying a child’s legal parents when they are unmarried.
It can be used to begin proceedings for child custody orders and child support orders. While the docket for the case was public, the filings have been sealed.

Last summer, the famed art-pop artist joined Grimes as they released their collaborative song, Welcome To The Opera, off of her album Genesys together. They performed the record together at Tomorrowland music festival in Belgium in July 2023.
