Inside Karl Stefanovic’s ‘$1 million midlife crisis’

He recently divorced his first wife Cassandra Thorburn and is now engaged to model and shoe designer, Jasmine Yarbrough. 

And according to Woman’s Day, Today star Karl Stefanovic, 43, is going through a ‘$1 million midlife crisis.’

The publication claims that Karl has had hair transplants, has spent a whopping $200,000 on lavish holidays with his fiancée, and is even rumoured to give his girl a $15,000 monthly allowance.

‘It’s like watching an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous – not our mate Karl,’ a source told the publication. 

‘This is the bloke who was rarely seen flashing the cash.’

The publication reports Karl has dropped $200,000 on holidays – including to Bora Bora and Paris, where he spent $1,800 a night on accommodation.

He and Jasmine have also been spotted working out with a personal trainer ahead of their wedding, which is said to be costing him $26,000.

He’s also reportedly dropped $500,000 on luxury modes of transport, including a Harley Davidson, two Vespas, first class flights, as well as driving his own Mercedes, reportedly worth $300,000.

Woman’s Day also report he’s spent $220,000 on Jasmine, from her $120,000 engagement ring to other designer goods.

The TV star is also reportedly spending $3,000 a week on rent to live in a Sydney mansion near Cassandra and their children.

Meanwhile this month, Karl blasted claims that he and Jasmine have signed a paid media deal to discuss their recent engagement.

The Today host said it was ‘completely ridiculous’ to think that he would open up about his impending nuptials with the magazines who have made his life ‘hell’, reports this week’s Sunday Telegraph.

The 43-year-old added that the couple remain tight-lipped on the happy news as they want to keep things private and enjoy time to be with each other and their families. 

‘It’s one thing to be seen around town and stuff [wearing the ring] but this [speaking about it] is another thing — some things are okay to keep private,’ Karl said while shooting a Today Show segment with boxing star Jeff Horn in Brisbane, the publication reported.

‘There’s got to be some time here that we have to enjoy to ourselves and with our family,’ he added.

The presenter conceded that the couple may talk about their engagement in due course, but slammed any suggestions that they have planned a paid deal.

‘That’s completely ridiculous — as if I would ever do a media deal with any of the magazines that have made my life hell,’ he vented.

Jasmine confirmed her engagement to Karl by wearing a giant diamond sparkler on her ring finger during a celebratory lunch recently.
