Penrith’s wild grand final celebrations are showing no signs of slowing down with players partying past sunrise after they sealed their status as rugby league’s greatest team in almost 60 years.

The side’s historic 14-6 victory over the Storm in the NRL grand final makes them only the third team in history to claim four straight premierships, and the first since the great St George side won 11 in a row from 1956 to 1966.

After celebrations on the pitch, Brian To’o was presented with a crown by his wife and then players moved to the sheds to continue the party.

Players flashed their 2024 Grand Final rings, with some having having several on their fingers as they celebrated the incredible four-peat.

Many players wore ski goggles to keep the spraying booze out of their eyes and could be seen wearing colourful Polynesian candy leis around their necks.

Leis are given during weddings, birthdays and celebrations – and boy did the Panthers have plenty to celebrate.

Australian Olympic champion, and Panthers diehard, Jessica Fox popped up on several players’ social media feeds celebrating in the sheds.

Hooker Mitch Kenny, who used to be a groundskeeper for Penrith, posted a shot of himself mowing the grass at Accor Stadium.

The team was bussed from the stadium to the club’s precinct in the early hours of the morning, but not without a pitstop at the Panthers Leagues club.

‘Best ever… Big love to the riff!’ Nathan Cleary captioned an Instagram clip of the club in party mode.

Players were still going at it as Monday dawned, with Izack Tago posting a clip to social media of his bleary eyed teammates.

Usually, the team would be doing a fan greeting at BlueBet Stadium after the win, but the club has chosen to delay the official occasion until Wednesday.

Players on Monday are instead partying behind closed doors at a function organised by club boss Matt Cameron.

Asked on Sunday night how the title of being the best team of the NRL era sat with him, Cleary suggested that was now undisputed.

‘In the NRL era, definitely. I don’t think there’s much more we can do,’ the Penrith halfback said.

‘That Dragons team back then was an amazing term and achieved an amazing feat. But in terms of the NRL era, yeah, it’s pretty crazy.

‘We have lost great players along this journey, and we’re going to lose more next year, but we just keep finding a way, people just step up.

‘Paul Alamoti he’s come in and losing Critta (Stephen Crichton) then Taylan May, and now he’s up on the big stage just absolutely carving up.

‘It’s special to have that culture and just bring people in, and they just do their job and probably exceed it, to be honest.’
