Inside the incredible $15million Byron Bay retreat used to film Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers as it hits the market

The incredible Byron Bay retreat featured in Nicole Kidman’s hit series Nine Perfect Strangers has hit the market.

Surrounded by dense bushland, the boutique ‘wellness’ getaway features 10 bedrooms and 10.5 bathrooms.

No price guide has been set for the gorgeous pad which boasts a geodesic dome, an outdoor cinema, a swimming pool and a fire pit.

However, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on Saturday that the chic villa has already attracted an offer of $15million.

Owners Peter Ostick, a tech businessman, and Gary Garrow, a meditation expert, built the property known as Soma in 2019 after snapping up the nine hectare site in 2016 for a mere $1.8million.

The property was used for the filming of Nine Perfect Strangers in 2020.

Situated in the Ewingsdale hinterland 5kms from the Byron Bay township, the centre was designed by architect Rieky Sunur and features concrete and timber styling.

Highlights include floor-to-ceiling windows which offer stunning views of the surrounding hills.

The second floor also features stylish cladded walls covered in vertical wooden slats.

Inside the main house, guests have access to a chef-style kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and plenty of counter space.

Meanwhile, the dining room features stunning views of the lush countryside.

According to the Soma website, a four-night full retreat package including a king bed is worth $3390 per person.

Meanwhile, in 2021, Soma’s owners were asking $6,820 for a single day rental.

Fans of Nine Perfect Strangers will recognise Soma as the location for the sinister ‘wellness’ retreat that was key to the popular crime story.

In the series, Nicole stars as Masha Dmitrichenko, a Russian expatriate and the founder of Tranquillum House.

Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, Reginal Hall and Samara Weaving, feature as guests who come to the retreat in hopes of being healed and transformed spiritually.

But things quickly go awry for the guests as the truth about Nicole emerges.

The series reunites Nicole with Big Little Lies creator and writer David E. Kelly, as well as novelist Liane Moriarty, who wrote the novels both shows were based on.

Soma’s geodesic ‘yoga’ dome featured prominently in Nine Perfect strangers which debuted on Prime Video in 2021.
