Instagram star shares snap of bruised face made my make-up

An Instagram star has posted a photograph of a fake bruise on her face created by make-up – in order to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Diala Makki, who is based in Dubai, shared the snap of her and make-up artist Samira Olfat, along with the caption: ‘How would you react if this wasn’t make-up?’

The shocking photograph shows very realistic-looking bruises on the cheeks of both women.

Social media users quickly reacted to the picture, with many thanking Diala for her bold stand on the issue.

Sharing the picture on Instagram, Diala explained: ‘I will dedicate this entire week for women , each and every one of us has a story .. don’t be ashamed to share it , it might inspire or help others.’ 

In Arabic, she also explained how she herself had been ‘subjected to psychological violence’.

Fans praised the ‘powerful’ photograph, describing the television presenter as a ‘real inspiration.’ 

One wrote: ‘More awareness needs to come out of the Arab world on domestic violence thank you for bringing awareness to this subject.’

One woman wrote: ‘Its hard sometimes to get out of this relationship but not imposible… my last one was like this…
