She’s the confident stunner who stars in Channel Seven’s new reality show Instant Hotel.
But speaking to New Idea this week, Shay Razaei revealed that hidden pain behind the scenes resulted in her dropping 10kg.
Explaining her fiancé Tamim drowned during a trip to Mammoth Lakes, California before filming kicked off, Shay divulged the weight loss was a result of her grief over his death.

‘I’ve lost so much weight since the show – about 10 kilograms. I look at myself on the show now and I think I look chubby, but the weight loss, it came from my fiancé passing away,’ she told the magazine.
Also leading to Shay dropping the kilos is her stressful career which requires long hours.
‘I definitely have a loss of appetite. I work 13-hour shifts in my jobs. I work in the medical field, so I’m dealing with people’s lives and I forget about food. You remember to eat when you’re about to pass out,’ Shay explained.

The death of her partner, who she had been dating since 2011, isn’t the only tragedy the reality TV star has suffered.
Shay was also forced to come to grips with the deaths of two others who were close to her.
‘My stepsister also passed away in the same year and one of my best friends committed suicide shortly after,’ Shay said.

While the passing of the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with is no doubt painful, Shay is looking to the future.
The brunette beauty divulged she applied for the show with her friend Mikey in a bid to move on.
Shay also admitted she is ready for a fresh start in love as well and wouldn’t be against returning to TV to take part in a dating reality show.
