This is the moment hotel staff were seen removing towels from poolside loungers to allow everyone at the establishment the chance to get the prime spots.

TikTok user The Railway Queen shared a video showing a manager at her Turkey hotel piling up towels on his shoulder, in an attempt to clear up space by the pool.

The social media user captioned the video: ‘Sunbed wars. Stay and protect at [all] costs.’

The towel on the lounger is considered a near-universal sign of reservation.

While the white polo-clad member of staff was seen brazenly clearing the highly sought after spots three days ago, a second video posted by The Railway Queen shows hotel staff at it again.

The second video, captioned ‘Guess who’s back… back again’ with Eminem’s The Real Slim Shady playing over it, shows a member of staff picking up even more towels, this time right next to a relaxing customer.

The continent has seen inflamed tensions in the sunbed wars, with one man being spotted bagging six prime spots at a Spanish resort.

In a video posted to TikTok last month, guests at the Hotel Village in Benalmadena, Spain, can be seen with towels in hand ready to dash to their desired spots once they are given the okay by staff.

One man in a bucket hat can be seen staking a claim for six loungers by quickly flinging his towels across two rows of three.

It comes as Majorca announced plans to end the towel wars by introducing an app for people to book sunbeds with the aim of putting an end to the beach battles.

If the plans of the town hall of Palma de Mallorca are followed, loungers at the municipality’s beaches – Ciutat Jardí, Cala Estància, Can Pere Antoni, Cala Major and Playa de Palma – will only be able to be reserved via an app, BILD reports.

The beaches will also have Wi-Fi and video surveillance, with the plan set to start as early as 2025.

Bookings will work similar to how seat reservations work on planes, with the app showing which sunbeds are occupied or free to book.

Reservations can then be made online regardless of location with prices being transparent to ensure everyone is treated equally, the report says.

Until then, however, tourists will continue to battle for sunbeds, as seen in the latest clip posted online.

Commenting beneath the TikTok video of the Hotel Village in Benalmadena, one person joked: ‘Want to know what happens afterwards. Do they all sit and relax?’

Another said: ‘My idea of holiday hell,’ while a third added: ‘I am glad I hate sunbathing.’
