International superstar set to perform at 2024 Logies is revealed – as presenters for the award’s night are announced

Television’s night of nights has added some international flavour, with a UK superstar announced as the first act on the entertainment lineup.

UK singer-songwriter James Bay will be performing at the 2024 TV Week Logies at The Star in Sydney on August 18.

The Grammy-nominated artist, 33, who was Down Under back in March, said in a statement that he is looking forward to the event.

‘I’m so excited to be coming back to Australia for the second time this year,’ the Let It Go hitmaker said.

‘Australia has always been a special place to me and I look forward to performing on The Logies stage.’

Best known for his triple-platinum breakout song Let It Go, James has been nominated for three Grammy Awards in the Best New Artist, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song categories.

The Logies has also confirmed its first round of presenters for the event including Home and Away stalwart Ray Meagher and his former co-star Kate Ritchie.

Other stars that have been confirmed to be stepping up to the podium include Rachel Griffiths, Deborah Mailman, Matt Shirvington, Larry Emdur and Luke McGregor.

The first round presenters list is rounded out by Celia Pacquola, Stephen Peacocke, Michelle Lim Davidson, Claudia Karvan, Costa Georgiadis, Sarah Abo, Charlie Albone, Stephen Curry and the Muster Dogs, with more to be announced.

Comedian Sam Pang will be hosting the award’s night.

‘Hosting the Logies last year was an amazing experience and I’m thrilled to return in 2024,’ Sam said in a statement in June.

‘Adding to the excitement, Seven have also given me the green light to try new things this year, so I’m really looking forward to displaying my under appreciated and severely undeveloped song and dance skills.’

Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger, and Tony Armstrong will be vying for the Gold Logie.

Last year, Pang was hailed as one of the best Logies hosts in ages following his debut at the awards.

His blistering gags during the Logies included high profile targets such as Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic and retired Sunrise host David Koch.

Channel Seven’s Logies telecast was a ratings blockbuster for the network, drawing in an impressive 877,000 viewers.

Fans have credited Sam for the show’s success, with many tuning in to the Logies for the first time just to see him host the show.

He was a big hit with viewers thanks to his fiery gags, in which he took aim at everything from gross reality TV to the scandalous private lives of celebrities.

Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show is ‘a clear sign we’ll not make it as a species’.

He also joked about commercial TV’s lack of diversity, saying: ‘I’m the first host in the history of the Logies to be half and half – half Channel Seven, half Channel Ten.’
