Inventive lamb in NZ used a cat flap to get into a house

It is a well-known fact that in New Zealand, sheep outnumber people by a ratio of seven to one. 

Less well-known, however, is the fact that scientists at the University of Cambridge found in the lambs can have the brainpower to equal monkeys and, in some tests, humans.

It’s no wonder, then, that one lamb in Milton assumed he belonged in the house with his human family – and then thought of a way to make it happen.

An Otago dairy farmer has captured the moment that his pet lamb indulged in a little breaking and entering via a cat flap.

The inquisitive lamb can be seen sniffing around the small door, and then butting it experimentally.

Finally, the clever lamb sticks his head through and, with some twisting, manoeuvres his entire body through the opening and wanders into the house.

The pet then happily trots off to find his owner, presumably while plotting his next feat of intelligence.

One can only hope that he doesn’t stumble across the family tucking into a nice lamb roast dinner.
