Iowa star Caitlin Clark declares for the 2024 WNBA Draft… hours after becoming the highest-scoring women’s basketball player in college athletics history

Just hours after passing Lynette Woodard’s record for the most points in a women’s college basketball career, Iowa star guard Caitlin Clark has declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

In a statement posted to social media, Clark announced her decision with only a few games remaining in Iowa’s regular season – with the Hawkeyes set to play in the Big Ten Tournament and the women’s edition of March Madness in the coming days.

‘While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve, it will be my last one at Iowa. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft,’ Clark wrote.

‘It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me during my time at Iowa – my teammates, who made my last four years the best; my coaches, trainers, and staff who always let me be me; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver [Hawkeye Arena] every night; and everyone who came out to support us across the country, especially the young kids.

‘Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all. Because of all of you, my dreams came true.’
